Diamond, he
shone in the
lightlessness
Tears of ruby red.
From the burnt and buried
Metamorphosed,turns
Glyptic.
Diamond shines bright light even in the dark(lightlessness). Tears of Ruby red means the precious tears associated with the love. Tears of ruby red is basically a verse which is used to relate the dark (in which the diamond shines) and the preciousness of it. Tears of ruby red can also indicate the superiority of the diamond. From the burnt and buried--- this is how a diamond comes into existence. Metamorphosed---The transformation and the diamond turns into a work of art..something like a spectacular carving(Glyptic).
Dancer, he
drowned in the dark, and
dressed in stark obsidian.
Juicy steaks of love, pride
bartered for a bit of glimmer.
That won’t pilfer his shine away.
Even the charcoal like onyx can
Gleam.
This verse is about a dancer who is compared or is wearing a diamond. A dancer also dances in the dark. Dressed in stark obsidian. Juicy Steaks of love- The artistic aroma of the body of the dancer. Steaks essentially may or may not mean the parts of the body :P. Anything wont take his shine away from him(diamond/dancer) even if its in the dark. Even the darkest/pitch black can shine.
Admirer,she
opens her mouth slightly
lets it leave a lingering kiss
on the inside of her dry lips.
Texture. The feel of human skin,
the feel of the city, the feel
of soft salty wind. Salt like
Blood.
This is about a girl who admires the beauty of the diamond. She feels the diamond close to her mouth. And I intentionally wrote it as if shes in some pain. Diamonds are generally bought when love isn't enough. They are just there to fill in the voids. The city, wind, salt, blood are all related to the pain and the situation of the girl :) Needn't write more.
Thieves, they
came to taste his light
and fumbled in his shadow.
He shimmered, refused to sparkle
Amazed they were, who strived, came to
see what might have been the symphony
The flawless brilliance and the captivating
Ego.
Thieves...can be taken in the literal sense or just be used to refer people who cannot purchase it and still cannot resist it. I think there is nothing more for me to write.
Lovers, they
came to stay, alight
waiting for a bit of bright,
expecting him to mesmerize them,
to rejuvenate their squandered Love.
But instead his shine grew weaker
and he could not be their gem.
That night-It won. It sneered.
Dark horse, be warned –
Even in the black he
shines.
A verse similar to the admirer one. Its just that here the poet is talking about two people who want the diamond to fill in the void between them. But then the shine grew weaker and it won cos it isn't precious and worthy for people to expect him to fill the voids. It won cos they still couldn't gather their love together. There is more to it.
Shadow, she
shall not steal
His eager soul
White. Harsh. Slight
Soft. Silk. Greyshine
It's contexture- A work of art.
Dare you stay and glimpse; His,
Heart?
This has everything about a diamond. Its physicality and its significance. Even though the shadow is dark but it still isn't able to steal the soul of the diamond. Its contexture(web/structure) is a piece of art. Thats all.
